Walks Without Wine: 5 Ways to Rethink Your Relationship With Alcohol

Have you ever found yourself thinking about quitting drinking, only to talk yourself out of it a few days later?

Maybe you've tried moderating, taking a break from alcohol, or making promises that this weekend will be different.

You know alcohol isn't making you feel your best, but there's still a part of you that doesn't want to give it up.

I understand this feeling because I spent years questioning my own relationship with alcohol before finally deciding to stop drinking.

One thing I've learned is that changing your relationship with alcohol is about so much more than removing the drink.

It's about understanding yourself, recognizing patterns, building self-trust, and discovering what you actually want your life to look like.

That's why I created my new free audio series, Walks Without Wine.

Why I Created Walks Without Wine

If you know me, you probably know how much I love walking.

I walk almost every day, not just for exercise, but because it helps me manage stress, process emotions, and clear my mind.

Walking gives me space to think, reflect, and reconnect with myself.

I wanted to create something that combined the benefits of walking with meaningful conversations about alcohol, personal growth, and living a more fulfilling life.

The result is Walks Without Wine, a free series of five audio lessons, each 10 minutes or less, accompanied by a workbook with journaling prompts.

You don't actually have to walk while listening. You can listen while driving, folding laundry, or taking a few quiet moments for yourself.

The important part is creating space to get curious about your relationship with alcohol.

5 Conversations That Can Change How You Think About Drinking

1. Why Do I Keep Thinking About Alcohol?

Have you ever noticed that one part of you wants to stop drinking while another part wants to continue?

This internal conflict is incredibly common, especially for women who have spent years questioning their drinking habits.

We'll explore why these conflicting feelings happen and what they might be telling you.

2. Maybe You Don't Actually Miss Alcohol

Sometimes we think we miss drinking when what we're really missing is something else.

Maybe it's connection, relaxation, excitement, or having something to look forward to.

When we begin identifying what alcohol represents in our lives, we can start finding other ways to meet those needs.

3. How Many Alcohol Rules Have You Made?

Only drink on weekends.

Drink water between alcoholic beverages.

Switch from wine to something else.

Take a month off.

Sound familiar?

I tried plenty of drinking rules myself.

The problem is that constantly negotiating with alcohol can keep us stuck in the same start-over cycle.

This conversation explores why moderation doesn't always create the freedom we're looking for.

4. What If This Is Bigger Than Alcohol?

When I stopped drinking, I had no idea how much my life would change.

I didn't know I would become an author, start a podcast, coach women, or step onto a stage to share my story.

Those opportunities unfolded as I began creating a life that felt more aligned with who I wanted to become.

I believe removing alcohol can create space for things we never expected.

Sometimes the decision to stop drinking is just the beginning.

5. What Do You Want Your Life to Become About Now?

One of the biggest questions we can ask ourselves is:

What do I want my life to be about when alcohol is no longer taking up so much space?

It's normal to experience fear, uncertainty, or resistance when making a significant change.

It's also an opportunity to explore what brings you joy, what matters most, and what you want to create moving forward.

An alcohol-free life isn't just about what you're leaving behind. It's also about what you're making room for.

You Don't Need to Have Everything Figured Out

Whether you're sober curious, struggling with grey-area drinking, or already living alcohol-free, you don't need to know exactly where this journey will lead.

You can start by getting curious.

Pay attention to the thoughts you keep having about alcohol. Notice the patterns that repeat themselves. Ask yourself what you actually need.

Sometimes the most meaningful changes begin with one small decision to listen to yourself.
